As I've posted before, it's always great to mesh business with pleasure. A couple weeks ago, I hopped in the car at a moment of spontaneity with my new friend Elena. We road tripped from LA-SF up the PCH, stopping along the way for many adventures. We had an amazing time, and generated some stock images amidst the adventure. Its always nice to have a beautiful friend to photograph. Beautiful Subject + Beautiful Location = Beautiful photo. Some of the elements that inspire me the most.
The story comes in 2 parts. The first half is LA-SF, which you can view those images here:

The second half came from her convincing me to fly back to SF and finish the trip to Seattle. Those images can be found here:

Your photos makes me so happy.
I could look at them all. day. long.
I think its awesome nick that you mix business with pleasure. I would like to more productive and use my time as wisely.
For people you meet or anyone you shoot for stock work, like the skate board kid you met and shot. What do you offer the subject in return for using their likeness for stock.
Also whats your next step in your process once you return from an adventure such as this. Do you just file them away in your stock library, I see you add them to your story feed. Are email promos made from every adventure or what.
Thanks. It’s different every time. A lot of time, I will offer images on a CD for them. Usually a fair trade, because for someone to hire me to do a personal shoot would cost them more than what I can and would pay non-agency models for a stock shoot. It works out better in their favor usually. All depends on what it is. A lot of people are friends.
The skateboard kid, I didn’t get a stock release although I probably could and should.
I always shoot for my book, especially when I’m shooting for myself or this. My book is more important than stock, and if I can get some stock material out of it, great. You should never stop shooting as if it were for your portfolio.
I always add new work to my stories feed if I get enough great images for a story.
Wow.. those are some fine images!
the colors are really amazing..
always nice to see new work from you.. keep up the good work : )
Beautiful natural lighting!
looks like a great time! Love the color, and the windy shots on the bluff are my favorites! Very cool stories!
Your images tell an amazing story. I feel a road trip coming on!
the chick is hot, the pics are hot, summer in so-cal.
well done yet again.
What I have always liked about your photography is the skill you have for turning ordinary events into beautiful photos. I’ve taken a road trip from LA to SF on PCH and assure you that none of my photos turned out that well!
Thanks for posting such interesting and inspiring photos and the stories behind your work. A great asset in the blog world.
Beautiful indeed.
very nice, very compelling. thanks for sharing.
