The more I shoot film, the more fun it becomes. Especially when you develop rolls from a couple years past and find some gems. Busted out the Contax G2 & my Pentax 67 with Kodak T-max 400/Kodak 400NC/VC film stock for these.

These are sweet! What camera were you using? I’m wanting to get into film myself, but have no idea where to start.
Thanks!
Contax G2 and the Pentax 67
awesomeness.
Always inspiring. I only follow two photographers regularly and you’re one of them. I love the movement and expression! I’ve been shooting some film – I love the anticipation – wondering exactly what expressions you captured. It’s fun to look at a shoot a few days or weeks later. Thanks for sharing!
man sometimes you just can’t touch the colors that come off of film…so fresh and natural. very nice!
I think its amazing that its a new fad to go back to film.
Photography classes in college I took were on film only. It seems so weird.
how fun! i actually just found a film that i have no idea what it is! i will save to develop with the film i shot today ; )
It’s certainly *amazing* allright…that commercial photogs are being rewarded for “going retro”.
Whatever.
Make good images and don’t play into the hype of one particular medium or the “coolness factor” of shooting film.
Dude, you’re trying too hard to fit in.
Yeah, “Just a Tog” maybe it’s a fad, or maybe it’s getting back to the roots. No need to be a hater. What does experimenting with different mediums have to do with trying to fit in? I could give a shit about “fitting in”. Get over it.
Haha, wtf @ Just A Tog’s post…
Anyway, photos look great Nick. I’ve been real interested in film lately (guess I’m trying to fit in =P). Do you have any suggestions for a good affordable film camera to start off with?
Thanks!
Haha word. You can really pick up an old Canon AE-1 film camera for small price. It’s the film, processing, and scanning that are the killers.
Wow, seem to have touched a nerve.
Just mean that so many people are playing to AD/CB’s with the “I’m different” I shoot homeless people on film! I shoot an out of focus image on film that has such a mood, nobody on digital can match.
And why don’t you all just shoot with disposables? Wouldn’t that be cool, or maybe a Holga. That’s original!
Whatever, not picking on you…just thought it was a bit too overplayed lately…Best of luck.
Adam, well, if it was funny, glad I could entertain!
BTW, Nick, need to get over the “Hater” and “Word” doesn’t fit your otherwise cool personality
BTW, kudos to you for not editing my post out, does prove that you are worthy of “Not Hatin’”
Of course you touch nerves when you assume and accuse someone of a reason that is entirely your opinion instead of bringing up a topic of conversation by speaking in generalities as you just did.
Yeah, I totally agree with you that shooting film for the sake of appeasing AD/AB’s to “be different” is pretty lame.
I’ve been shooting film because it’s worth experimenting and trying new things. It teaches you to shoot slower and think about each shot more. It’s more of a personal challenge.
Nick, are the did you tweak those colors in Capture One or were you able to pull those straight out of the camera? Nice shots.
Agree with taking time…find that a slower pace definitely nets more…
But the process of develop, scan etc…don’t think I could go back.

This set is just fantastic!

Holy… you just have these laying around?!
Nick, IM interested in knowing how the Pentax works for action? Or are the top 5 shots with the contax?
Im using a nikon F100 and old FG for my film work, but have been thinking about playing with MF just for fun. I totally agree that shooting film forces me to slow down, and think through my shots, thats why i love it.
I have been thinking about a MF/TLR just because of the forced slowing WAY donw, but IM not sure my manual focusing is fast enough for any type of moving action.
Your thoughts?
BTW love the new blog/website layout
Thanks for your time
@Dan The top 5 shots are done with the Contax. The Pentax, well since it’s manual focus, you have to be fast with the hand but that takes practice. I haven’t really shot it enough to manually focus for action with it. I know people that can do it. I’m not quite sure what you mean by MF/TLR. For action stuff, you need a high enough shutter speed and quick fingers to focus with the subject. The Pentax 67 I would imagine is easier to learn to focus for action compared to an RZ67 or Hasselblad. It holds much like a 35mm SLR.
Some recent film.. Peachy
